To honor Matt Lynch and his legacy as a servant, hero, and True Gentleman, the 1st Lt. Matthew D. Lynch Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established at Duke University.

This $100,000+ endowment will provide whole or partial scholarships to undergraduate students at Duke University with priority given as follows: (1) to non-freshmen who are members of the swimming team and, if possible, from New York; or (2) to members of other non-revenue sports teams; or (3) to students from the state of New York.

The scholarships sourced from this endowment celebrate and remember the life of an individual whose patriotism, personality, work ethic and dedication to Duke’s Swimming and Baseball programs will forever inspire teammates, friends, and future Duke athletes.

Donations may be made online by credit card (click here) or by or by mailing a check payable to “Duke University Office of Gift Records” (please note that your gift is for the Matt Lynch Scholarship Fund). The fund code is 618-4637.
